Dear Fellow DOMs;

 

It is an honor to serve you as president of TXADOM. Our goal is to assist DOMs in their calling to help churches.

 

You may be wondering where we are in our TXADOM Executive Director journey.  The short answer is we are on hold.  The survey we sent out last year showed us two very clear things.  The first is that the majority of DOMs felt like the position was needed and the second was that there were not funds available to create it.  Our leadership team met in January and decided that the timing is such that we need to wait until such time as we had the resources to go forward.  We are encouraging each association to send in the pledge they made toward the goal of an Executive Director.  Since we are not going to have a paid leader in the near future, it will be up to all of us to assist in helping TXADOM fulfill its strategic emphases.  These are summarized in our Strategy Plan we adopted in our August 2010 meeting.  This new strategic plan expands the current vision of TXADOM from a focus on Directors of Missions to developing a network that helps associations and churches.  The three new strategic emphases are: building up association leaders, leadership development for local churches and their pastors, and catalyzing a mission focus for both churches of an association and associations themselves.  We have a great leadership team that is committed to implement this strategic plan.  The following serve on the 2011-2012 team:

As you look at this list, please do two things.  First pray for each one to follow God’s direction.  The second thing is to consider how you can be involved in helping TXADOM fulfill our purpose and calling.  Some of you are very involved and I want to thank you for your investment of time, expertise, and energy.  But, we need more involvement if we are to get the job done. Call or email those on our leadership team who are guiding the efforts of TXADOM in the area or areas you have an interest.

As you know, TXADOM will only be as helpful and successful as the involvement of our members.
